Tom Hardy Confirmed For SPLINTER CELL

Roughly a year and a half since a press release was issued officially announcing New Regency and Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ live-action adaptation of the popular game, Splinter Cell with actor Tom Hardy set to star, the official word has come in confirming Hardy is now working on the script with director Doug Liman. Liman‘s attachment came as of March this year just months away from the forthcoming release of his new sci-fi action adventure, Edge Of Tomorrow. In a new report from IGN, Liman attributed a few details about what fans might expect upon the film’s production. “Everything about Splinter Cell will be younger.” he says. “It’s a chance to come up with a new franchise that is fresher and newer and younger, and Tom Hardy is such an incredible actor.”. Ever have a moment in your life when you realize a mistake has just come back to haunt you? Well, for me, it was never seeing Stargate when it came out back in 1994, with Kurt Russell and James Spader…well, at least not from start to finish anyway. But indeed, the film became a huge hit racking up nearly $200 million at the box office worldwide, spawning several TV shows, games, toys and much more in the years that followed. So, fast forward 20 years later and it appears that MGM and Warner Bros. are breathing new life into the franchise once again with Roland Emmerich returning to the director’s chair to offset a new trilogy. Ruben Fleischer Set To Direct SPY HUNTER

ComingSoon.net has reported via Deadline that director Reuben Fleischer (Zombieland) will helm the big screen adaptation of Midway’s popular 1980’s videogame, Spy Hunter, with a screenplay from Carter Blanchard. So far the film’s only known cast will feature actor Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Warrior) in the title role, with legendary Hong Kong fight choreographer Corey Yuen Kwai (The Legend Of Fong Sai Yuk 1 and 2, Kiss Of The Dragon, The Man With The Iron Fists) to direct the action. Filmmaker John Woo was previously attached to direct the film, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to lead. Hardy is set to appear in George Miller’s upcoming film, Mad Max: Fury Road.
