Directors Longman Leung and Sunny Luk blew moviegoers away with their 2012 hit film, Cold War, a tale of events that would become the ultimate litmus test of the tumultous politics of the Hong Kong Police Department between two leading branches. Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung led the way and carried the film’s superb tone with sheer gravitas and gusto in their performances, and a terrific script by Leung and Luk to keep the intrigue and explosive action going. COLD WAR 2 Gets A July 2016 Release With Chow Yun-Fat Joining

Further supporting reports dating back to 2013, THR has now weighed in confirming the appearance of actor Chow Yun-Fat in the forthcoming sequel, Cold War 2. All the familiar faces will be returning in the new film as well, including Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung Ka-fai, actress Charlie Young and actors Eddie Peng and Aarif Rahman, with duo Longman Leung and Sunny Luk back on board as writers and directors. Plot details are currently nil though the 2012 thriller focused on Kwok and Leung in the respective roles of Deputy Commissioners of different branches of the Hong Kong police and their brewing dissent in the wake of suspicious attacks that precede the kidnapping of five police officers. Off the heels of star-studded events at this year’s Hong Kong FilMart, a second trailer is out for the forthcoming release of the new action-packed international thriller, Helios. The film just recently made headlines as it landed a place on the latest release slate for Media Asia Entertainment Group as the company celebrated its 20th anniversary last month, launching a “new era” in the business of film at home and abroad. Helios is directed by Sunny Luk and Longman Leung with actors Nick Cheung, Jacky Cheung, Shawn Yue and Chang Chen leading the principle cast. A release date is still pending. Following a star-studded press conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Macau earlier this week, a new trailer was unveiled for the upcoming epic action thriller, Helios. The film represents the latest action-oriented efforts from filmmakers Sunny Luk and Longman Leung, the writing/directing duo behind the 2012 award-winning blockbuster, Cold War, which has since garnered a sequel. Primed for a yet-undated release for next year, the film centers around counterterriorism efforts to track down a stolen nuclearm Uranium bomb from North Korea that makes its way South to be sold in Hong Kong. Chow Yun Fat Set To Appear In COLD WAR Sequel

Chinese Films and Yahoo! Singapore are reporting that actor Chow Yun Fat is set star in the sequel to the 2012 Hong Kong action cinema smash hit, Cold War. The first film was written and directed by Lok Man Leung and Sunny Luk and made its premiere at the 17th annual Busan Film Festival in October of 2012, became a major success after grossing $100 million in just five days after its theatrical release. Cold War starred Aaron Kwok, Gordon Lam, Terence Yin, Charlie Young, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Andy Lau, Andy On, Grace Huang, Michael Wong and Chin Kar-Lok who also served as action director with Wong Wai-Fai.
