KINGDOM: Take A Look At An Extended SXSW Trailer For Shinsuke Sato’s New Epic

Call it wishful thinking, but I’m still holding out hope for a Bleach sequel, and anyone familiar with director Shinsuke Sato’s work can, in some capacity, understand why. Granted that this includes folks attending this year’s SXSW where cinephiles can catch the latest glimpse of his new Warring States Period epic, Kingdom, as big a deal in Japan as it is, Sato might make some much-deserved headway here. Kingdom is based on mangaka Yasuhisa Hara’s highly successful and long-running 2006 Weekly Young Jump publication from Shueisha, and subsequent anime series from Pierrot. A live-action adaptation was announced last Spring following a rousing video promo celebrating the manga’s 10th anniversary in 2016. Jesse Eisenberg’s acting nods to his kind of signature wry appeal seen in films like Zombieland, The Social Network and even American Ultra. More can be seen in the official trailer for Riley Stearns’ new film, The Art Of Self-Defense, which I can safely say bodes as more black in its comedy than I thought. Evan Saathoff at BirthMoviesDeath brought the exclusive footage from Bleecker Street Media ahead of the film’s forthcoming premiere at this month’s SXSW. STUBER: Hitch A Ride With The First Photos From Upcoming Action Comedy From Fox

Collider and EW were kind enough on Thursday to drop some gems for upcoming action comedy, Stuber. Michael Dowse (Goon, What If) directs this latest feat which spotlights Kumail Nanjiani and MCU star Dave Bautista ahead of its preliminary screening at SXSW next week. When a mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) picks up a passenger (Dave Bautista) who turns out to be a cop hot on the trail of a brutal killer, he’s thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he desperately tries to hold onto his wits, his life and his five-star rating. Directed by Michael Dowse, this action-comedy from 20th Century Fox also stars Iko Uwais, Natalie Morales, Betty Gilpin, Jimmy Tatro, Mira Sorvino and Karen Gillan. DC Announces LONG LIVE THE BAT, A Year Long Global Celebration Of The World’s Greatest Detetctive

2019 is the year of the Bat, folks! DC is commencing Long Live The Bat, a new worldwide celebratory campaign to commemorate the 80th birthday of the iconic caped crusader. New artwork by longtime DC artist José Luis García-López, and digital paint design is by Admira Wijaya has been just released to amplify the celebration which kicks off at SXSW this month. An official press announcement elucidates any all fans need to know to partake in the festivities which will include exclusive celebrations, special theatrical engagements, the milestone release of Detective Comics #1000, live events and first-ever Batman brand partnerships. It’s worth noting that we should be hearing more about the next film at some point as well for such a big spectacle.
