With a new connected television series still developing, filming has officially kicked off for the first of a brand new standalone trilogy for the upcoming release of Terminator. Several original characters have already been announced in addition to a few new ones, and with franchise actor Arnold Schwarzenegger updating his fans a few times in the past several months, things are looking pretty good for Paramount as production for the new film moves forward. Back in May it was reported that action star Arnold Schwarzenegger would be appearing in the currently developing theatrical reboot of The Toxic Avenger, from director Steve Pink. The revision of the 1980’s undergrond cult cinema classic would have seen Schwarzenegger take on the role of “The Exterminator”, a character who trains the grotesque looking hero to use his powers for good. A New Terminator Trilogy Is In The Works, Schwarzenegger To Return

I personally never thought that the Terminator franchise would get a reboot, particularly considering how epic the orginally story was from the beginning. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though, considering that we are in an age of remakes and reboots. And now that the very franchise that helped boost director James Cameron’s career back in 1984 is back in the headlines with a new press release courtesy of Paramount Pictures, I wouldn’t be surprised if Avatar gets rebooted. Not to sound cynical or anything, particularly since I support good movies in general, whether they are reboots or not. However, it is a bit awkward that we never really see the end of the war between John Connor and the Human Resistance, and the Terminators hell bent on eliminating all humanity, especially after the events in Terminator: Salvation, which I enjoyed (I sort of thought it was a reboot already).
