AFM 2017: WWII Action Drama, THE BOMBING, Gets Sales Movement Going Under Blue Box

The Hollywood Reporter is offering its first look at actor Bruce Willis in the upcoming World War 2 action drama, The Bombing. The new photo comes just as Blue Box International has launched sales at the American Film Market this week ahead of a hopeful 2D and 3D China release early next year. Based on the infamous air raid attack on Chongqing during WW II, US Air Force Commander Jack Johnson (Willis) trains the Chinese people under harrowing conditions how to battle against the Japanese and leads his own aviation squadron against the trained Japanese Air Force. The film, currently in post-production, hit a stalemate with investors last summer which led to a delay in its China release. Chinese WWII Epic, THE BOMBING Hires Mel Gibson As Art Director

It’s been a little over a month since it was announced that actors Nicholas Tse and Bruce Wills are joined together among a slew of stars for Xiao Feng‘s upcoming World War II epic, The Bombing. There’s no question this particular title is just one of several in China’s efforts to spearhead its productivity into the mainstream with the rest of the world, specifically with its international out reach to big name film stars, and this month’s latest addition now brings in actor Mel Gibson to the crew as per a press release following an announcement last week. The film is interestingly now one of two World War II era titles Gibson is attached to with the other being upcoming drama, Hacksaw Ridge with former Spider-Man principal, actor Andrew Garfield starring.
