Following reports back in May of 2019, Deadline‘s Nancy Tartaglione is reaffirming the news on the pending Don Lee and Sylvester Stallone collab, a remake of Lee Won-tae’s hit 2019 action crime thriller, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. The original film was released in South Korea by Kiwi Media Group and shortly after by Well Go USA in the states following its Fantasia Festival premiere (read our review). Joined by Kim Moo-yul and Kim Sung-kyu, Lee starred as a gangster who, after becoming the sole survivor among a raft of murdered crimebosses, reluctantly pairs up with a dogmatic cop who despises gangsters, to take the serial killer down. His latest entry with director Lee Won-Tae in The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil is now readying a North American Blu-Ray release next week and we’re aiming to give away three copies to fans who can answer the following trivia: Don Lee shares space with fellow The Cop, The Gangster, The Devil lead actor Kim Moo-Yul in an OCN TV franchise now returning to the big screen with a similar title. Kim Joo-hwan’s supernatural MMA thriller, The Divine Fury, is officially screening as a late addition to this year’s 23rd edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival. A day after its South Korean release, the film will screen on August 1 immediately following Hiroyuki Imaishi’s animated powerhouse feature debut out of Studio Trigger, Promare. Well Go USA has slated an August 16 U.S. select theatrical release. The Divine Fury is written and directed by Kim and boasts a dazzling mix of horror and mixed martial arts starring Park Seo-jun (Parasite), Woo Do-hwan (Tempted) and Ahn Sung-ki (The Divine Weapon). South Korean actor Don Lee (a.k.a. Ma Dong-Seok) is back with first billing alongside Kim Moo-Yul and Kim Sung-Kyu in a crime tale intriguingly based on a true story with Lee Won-Tae’s The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. Well Go USA officially acquired Lee Won-Tae’s new crime drama, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, and is officially poised to release the film in the U.S. on June 7. The Texas-based distro firm made the announcement on Thursday (news via THR) conjoining an official trailer which you can view above. Fierce gang boss Jang Dong-su (Don Lee) is violently attacked after a fender bender on a rainy night. After fighting back, he barely escapes, however his reputation as a feared leader is damaged beyond repair. The only way to restore his image is to find his attacker and exact revenge. Jang teams up with Detective Jung Tae-seok (Kim Moo-yul) to find the assailant, but soon discovers the attacker is actually a serial killer. Serial killer thriller The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil is only a week from its South Korean release with actor Don Lee – billed locally as Ma Dong-Seok – starring in a key role. Nevertheless, that’s not putting the breaks on the film’s prospects anytime soon it seems as word now brings us news of its upcoming remake thanks to Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions and BA Entertainment. 2019 is a milestone year Ma Dong-Seok who just made the casting rounds for Marvel’s next-phase adventure, The Eternals. He still has a few home grown gems coming down the pipeline and for this we now turn to a brand new official trailer for The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, from Man Of Will helmer Lee Won-Tae. Ma is joined by fellow Bad Guys cohort, actor Kim Moo-Yul in the respective roles of Jang and Jung, two men on opposite sides of the law who reluctantly join forces to pursue a serial killer when Jang narrowly survives after becomimg a target himself. Ma’s fellow cohort from The Outlaws, actor Kim Seong-gyu, rounds out the trio as the aforementioned serial killer for the film’s May 15 release. Nope, far from it… The star of recent pics including Champion and The Soul-Mate is already in production as of July with 2019-bound thriller, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil from Man Of Will helmer Lee Won-tae. The film centers on a biased cop who finds an unlikely ally in a crime boss who was left for dead amid a spate of gruesome serial killings. Lee’s titular gangster role will see him joined by Kim Moo-yul (Illang: The Wolf Brigade, Forgotten) who plays the cop, and reunited with fellow cohort from The Outlaws, actor Kim Seong-gyu, otherwise playing the serial killer – or the devil, as indicated by the title.
