The legendary CGI and Hong Kong Wire-Fu inspired film series The Matrix hardly needs any introduction. However, for the uninitiated, the series so far is a multimedia franchise revolving around the story of a man who comes to be known as Neo. Neo lives in a virtual world controlled by a machine empire, harvesting raw energy from human bodies in massive fields of pods. Neo has the unexplainable ability to manipulate the Matrix around him in ways that make him into a sort of superhuman, finally meeting his story’s end by defeating a rogue AI that threatened both humanity and the machines. THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS Revives The Fandom With Fresh New Key Art

Lana Wachowski’s The Matrix Resurrections is gearing up to make some serious forward-looking changes for the franchise – the most peculiar one being the return of Morpheus via actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, with an incarnation of the character he himself has alluded to as unlike the one previously played by Lawrence Fishburne in the original trilogy. There’s tiny hints of this in the most recent teaser, and it’ll be interesting to find out how this and other surprises will affect the story that many of us have become so familiar with, featuring the now returning Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss. Up until now we still didn’t know jack shit about any story details for Lana Wachowski’s newest franchise continuation, The Matrix Resurrections, and so all we’ve had to go on were the tens and hundreds of thousands of mini-teasers, all timelocked within each minute of the day past the “pill wall” of the newly launched official website. That all or mostly changes depending on how prospective you feel the latest trailer is for the fourth installment of the blockbuster franchise, and you can now check it out in the player above as of Thursday morning.
