MYSTIC BLADE Slices Through With A New Poster And U.S. Release

The past year or so has seen some pretty awesome highlights for martial arts cinema, mainstream and indie, and if you follow the genre, you can also denote some amazing happenings on the independent level in one capacity or another. Such effort can be seen director Shaky Gonzalez‘s latest shortfilm, Echoes Of A Ronin, a conceptual martial arts action project which harkens back to elements classic chambara for Denmark’s modern action niche. It’s been several years since production wrapped and followed with post-production for the upcoming fantasy martial arts revenge thriller, Mystic Blade. The film marks a feature debut for action auteur and stuntman David Ismalome with award-winning martial artist and mentor, actor, stuntman producer and screenwriter Don Ferguson in his first lead role since the two began their respective journeys as competitive martial artists in Thailand where they would soon cross paths on the set of the 2003 action hit, Ong Bak, ultimately becoming long term friends and collaborators with its lead actor, Tony Jaa. Actor David Sakurai is looking to make 2014 his break out year as another rising action star in the genre with the forthcoming release of his latest shortfilm out of Denmark, Echoes Of A Ronin. While we await the fate of Sidney Lexy Plaut’s Dark Samurai and Thomas Eikrem’s Le Accelerator, actor and rising action star David Sakurai has also been busy on his next project with writing and producing partner, filmmaker Shaky Gonzalez titled Echoes Of A Ronin. From L to R: Brahim Achabbakhe, Ron Smoorenburg and Kazu Patrick Tang Brahim Achabbahke, Ron Smoorenburg and Kazu Patrick Tang are three of the most experienced and talented stunt coordinators and performers of the industry, compiling nearly twenty four years in their field working on such films as Who Am I?, Unleashed, Mercury Man, The Kick, Kill Em’All and Dragonwolf to name a few.
