TIME TO HUNT: Netflix To Produce English-Language Remake For ‘iBoy’ And ‘Night Teeth’ Director

Netflix will reteam with iBoy and Night Teeth helmer Adam Randall for an English-language revamp of director Yoon Sung-hyun’s dystopian action crime thriller, Time To Hunt. The report comes from Deadline’s Andreas Wiseman who also notes that the streamer has appealed to a 150-page document by Randall as the company searches for a writer. Randall, also known for 2019 horror I See You, told us: “I watched the movie early in lockdown and thought it was a really strong concept. It’s half heist, half chase movie, set in a near dystopia, so it combines three of my favourite cinematic genres. The version I’m working on is set in the U.S. with a different story but similar structure. From what I understand, this is the first time Netflix has optioned one of its own foreign-language movies. Phantom Detective star Lee Je-hoon will rebel against the system in award-winning Bleak Night director Yoon Sung-hyun’s new heist thriller, Time To Hunt. The trailer is out from Little Big Pictures who will release the film some time in February, featuring Lee as a dystopian city dweller whose best laid getaway plans go belly up when he and his three friends are chased by a mysterious figure. Also starring are Choi Woo-Sik, Ahn Jae-Hong, Park Jung-Min and Park Hae-Soo.
