Cameras are set to roll this Spring in New York and New Jersey for dark comedy crime pic, The Kill Room, according to Deadline’s Andreas Wiseman reporting on the addition of actor Joe Manganiello (Archenemy, Zack Snyder’s Justice League) to the cast. The film, first announced in the trades at the start of April, joins the actor with previously-cast Pulp Fiction cohorts Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman. Penned by Jonathan Jacobson with Nicol Paone tapped to direct, The Kill Room charts “the story of a hitman (Manganiello), his boss (Jackson) and an art dealer (Thurman) whose money-laundering scheme accidentally turns the hitman into an overnight avant-garde sensation, forcing Thurman’s character to play the art world against the underworld.” The film will hit the Cannes market in May with producer Yale Entertainment’s sales and distribution banner, Great Escape, handling international sales and co-repping U.S. rights with ICM Partners, according to […]
Notable blockbuster director John McTiernan may finally get back into his element this year rounding up new sci-fi in Tau Ceti 4. This might find itself retitled to something more commericially viable unless he finds a way to make Tau Ceti 4 work, but that’s the title he and his current company at IMR are going with as Cannes sales approaches next week. McTiernan, best known for delivering 80s and 90s hallmark action cinema glory with Die Hard and Predator, penned the script and will produce with Thurman, and with Gail Sistrunk and Anthony Katagas. CAA and Paradigm […]
If you attended San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, you might have come across director Quentin Tarantino making the rounds to promote his Django Unchained/Zorro crossover comic. In light of this and other news, it turns out the retro cinema throwback visionary auteur best known for his work on cult hits like Resevoir Dogs, Jackie Brown and the incomparable Pulp Fiction is currently doing business with The Weinstein Company to theatrically a longer verison of his two-part martial arts spaghett-western kunoichi smash hit, Kill Bill. The new edition to be dubbed Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, has been in the works since 2008 following its pre-emptive Cannes screening prior to its two-part split in 2003, with other versions of the first film more violent in other territories than in the U.S. (seriously, if you own the Japanese DVD like I do, you know what I mean). The complete version […]
