I usually try not to form an opinion about something before I’ve experienced it myself. It is a bit harder, though, to go into an experience (a movie, for example) without my thoughts already formed based on opinions and reviews and comments I’ve read online. WONDER WOMAN 1984 Review: Patty Jenkins’s Latest Is No Throwaway Sequel

Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman 1984 is now available in theaters and select IMAX screens wherever Covid-safe protocols allow it. The film is also on HBO Max streaming for the next several weeks at no extra cost for subscribers. As noted, this has been a major point of contention this month as studio backlash ensued behind Warner Bros. Pictures’ choice to go the day-and-date route, and the next few days will tell what commercial earnings will arise, although we already now know what most of the reactions are if the influx of negative reviews at Rotten Tomatoes this weekend are any hint. If RT isn’t your metric, then that’s cool too. The film is totally recommendable to watch, but this push doesn’t come without some conditions. WONDER WOMAN 1984 Stakes A Day And Date Theatrical/HBO Max Release This Christmas

A little over a year since its originally-planned release last December, it appears that Warner Bros. Pictures is done kicking the can down the road further and has resigned to a releasing the long-awaited Wonder Woman 1984 simultaneously in 3D/2D/IMAX theaters and via HBO Max. The announcement was made Wednesday with a trailer relaunch, dating the film’s release accordingly in time for Christmas on December 25 in the U.S., with HBO Max releasing the film at no additional cost to subscribers. International markets will get to debut the film a week in advance from December 16. The move definitely cements things a little further as the country continues to struggle with the on-going pandemic and its crippling effect on select businesses, particularly the traditional theatrical model, as some exhibitors continue to face foreclosures and bankruptcy, while some consumers in select areas turn toward drive-in screenings as a more feasible model […]

Saturday is all about comic book movies for anyone who’s been tuned into DC Fandome for all things coming soon in the genre, and for fans of Patty Jenkins’s prosperity with 2017’s Wonder Woman, the upcoming sequel couldn’t come sooner. Gal Gadot returns to the iconic DC heroine in Wonder Woman 1984 in glistening and festive fashion with an official main trailer, and a full-fledged story waiting to be told with Chris Pine back in the role of Steve Trevor, and the villainous additions Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah and Pedro Pascal as Max Lord. Also starring are Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. The good news is the film is getting a theatrical 2D/3D/IMAX release on October 2. It’s been a big weekend at 2019 Comic Con Experience in São Paulo for upcoming studio blockbusters. Warner Bros. Pictures is definitely on the roster as well with the June 5, 2020 release of Wonder Woman 1984 and thus, we now have the first official trailer bringing fans face-to-face with actress Gal Gadot returning as the Amazonian superheroine. Chris Pine returns in a new role, and with Kirsten Wiig and The Mandalorian series star Pedro Pascal, and actresses Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, and of course, Blue Monday by 80s new wave rock band, New Order.
