Josh Boone To Direct X-Men Spin-Off, THE NEW MUTANTS, For Fox

Time will tell what the future holds for Professor Charles Xavier and his team of heroic mutants when Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse arrives next year in May. In the meantime, Fox is reportedly devloping a spin-off from their current franchise titled The New Mutants, and has officially closed a deal with The Faults In Our Stars helmer Josh Boone to write and direct. In 1982, Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod created the first team of which there are three, with the other two from seperate creative groups in 2003 and 2009, continuing the saga centered on the stories of young mutants trained at Xavier’s School For The Gifted. Bryan Singer Introduces The New 'Nightcrawler' For X-MEN: APOCALYPSE!

UPDATE: Looks like Singer decided to pull a fast one and remove Kodi Smit-McPhee’s costume debut of Nightcrawler from his Instagram account. Luckily the folks over at CBM have the animation as well as a new picture. (H/T: Cameron) There’s no telling what the future will hold for the current production of director Bryan Singer‘s latest, X-Men: Apocalypse. However, the forthcoming battle will be the greatest game changer yet with actor Oscar Isaac in the role of title villain, and with a new war at hand, our heroes will need all the power they can get. No doubt that actor Kodi Smit-McPhee will be joining as the character Nightcrawler, in its second iteration following Tony award-winning actor Alan Cumming’s role as the bright-eyed indigo-colored mutant teleporter in the 2003 film, X2. Kinberg: DEADPOOL Will Fit Into The X-Men Universe

Producer and screenwriter, Simon Kinberg (Elysium, X-Men: Days Of Future Past) has largely been the go-to for plenty of micro-updates on what fans can currently expect for forthcoming blockbuster films, particularly X-Men: Apocalypse and Fantastic Four. As of late though, the news circuit is also seeing a growing share of news bits giving some steam to the upcoming production of the newly announced Marvel adaptation, Deadpool, to be directed by Tim Miller. One such update now lends credence to the probability that the film will fall under the umbrella of Marvel’s X-Men universe, according to Kinberg in statements forwarded by Comic Book via CBM.
