Actor Samuel L. Jackson‘s latest role after Spike Lee’s Oldboy remake reverts back once more to the cinematic live-action rendering of Japanese manga/anime storytelling, this time in filmmaker Ralph Ziman‘s upcoming mystery science fiction action crime thriller, Kite. Based on Yasuomi Umetsu’s 1998 original video anime, Ziman‘s revisionist adaptation takes you into a not-too-distant future where terrorism and financial collapse have turned society into a state run by a corrupt police force that also benefits from the trafficking of young homeless girls.
