● Vertical Entertainment is proudly releasing Daniel Zirilli’s action thriller, Hollow Point, in select theaters where open, and on VOD from April 9. The film stars Dilan Jay as a grieving widower who “finds himself caught up in a war between a group of charismatic vigilantes and the crime that infests their city”. Kim Hyung-joo wrote and directed the pic which released in South Korea through Merry Christmas last month, starring Kim Young-kwang and Lee Sun-bin in the story of a private investigator and a secret agent who find themselves fugitives on the run in the wake of murders connected to a gun-smuggling case. 815 Pictures nabbed U.S. rights on the pic with CJ E&M for Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesoa, Klockworx for Japan, VS Cinema for Taiwan, and more. Local news outlets reported over the weekend that Project: Gutenberg helmer Felix Chong will reteam with Infernal Affairs trilogy stars Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai for ripped-from-the-headlines thriller, Once Upon A Time In Hong Kong (formerly Goldfinger). The past few weeks have been a little more eye-opening for me, personally – in particular, the experience derived from having just seen Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice – Ultimate Edition which is streaming on HBO Max. It’s just above three hours, and for what it’s worth, it’s a treatment that handedly lends more to the overall tapestry of what was supposed to be a more vast, theatrical cinematic universe of DC Comics adaptations that began with director Zack Snyder’s inceptive Man Of Steel in 2013. And not for nothing either, apart from the hit-or-miss lay-up of DCEU movies out of Warner Bros. One thing is certain when it comes to the upcoming release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League… well, two actually. Firstly, it’s been said that the newest incarnation, topping at four hours based on previous and current reports, will be a new and completely different take on its 2017 counterpart – as hinted notably by the teaser above from a while back. Brimming with four hours of movie than anyone’s ever seen at the time of it’s release, Zack Snyder’s Justice League arrived at Saturday’s DC FanDome to premiere an exclusive teaser. The film is expected to arrive next year on HBO Max while plans are being devised to release Snyder’s director’s cut to countries where HBO Max is not available. Starring Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ezra Miller (The Flash), the film will reintroduce the cast in a newer, revised and more fan-curious version of Snyder’s film following the 2017 original, co-helmed by none other than Joss Whedon.
