THE ADDAMS FAMILY TV Revamp From Tim Burton In The Works!

Your television programming could be getting creepy, spooky, mysterious, and did I mention ooky?

The master of the dark and gothic type films, Tim Burton, is looking at developing a new series focusing on The Addams Family. So what will his new take on the family who is already familiar to most look like?

It has not been confirmed, but Deadline has reported that “the new live-action series would be set in present times and be from the perspective of Wednesday Addams and what the world would look like to her in 2020.” Netflix is also rumored to be at the top of the list for potential buyers.

If you aren’t already familiar with the Addams family (you should be!), they first came into households via a cartoon in 1938 created by Charles Addams. There has also been a TV show, two movies, and the recent animated film which has a sequel on the way.

Fans of Burton, like me, are probably wondering what took him so long to do his own version of an Addams family tale. He is well known for his dark themes and spookiness with films like Beetlejuice, Dark Shadows, and who didn’t like his version of Sweeney Todd?

So, while we wait for a date to be announced, let’s start a betting pool: Will Christina Ricci be involved? What role will Johnny Depp play? Will Helena Bonham Carter be involved?
