The Brand New ATOMIC BLONDE Trailer Reminds You Why We Like David Leitch

David Leitch has long had me sold – even before his shared success with co-director Chad Stahelski on John Wick in 2014. Bringing starpower and experience with filmic competence certainly helped along the way and no less with a career of well over twenty years which led to a fruitful partnership in training actors at Inglewood’s 8711 stunt and fight training camp.

Yes, action fans are happy thusfar and Leitch is a proven influence in that regard as his latest, Atomic Blonde, readies its July 28 with Mad Max: Fury Road actress Charlize Theron showcasing her usual tough-as-nails gravitas for this stimulating new thriller to heat up your summer. Best of all here is that amid Hollywood’s habitual shaky-cam tomfoolery, you can also SEE what the hell is going on in the action as everything that gets punched, stabbed, kicked, shot or flipped over is caught on camera with the utmost care, tact and professionality. It’s as if these people KNOW what they are doing! Weird, isn’t it?

Oscar® winner Charlize Theron explodes into summer in Atomic Blonde, a breakneck action-thriller that follows MI6’s most lethal assassin through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors.

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

A blistering blend of sleek action, gritty sexuality and dazzling style, Atomic Blonde is directed by David Leitch (John Wick, upcoming Deadpool 2). Also starring John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones, the film is based on the Oni Press graphic novel series“The Coldest City,” by Antony Johnston & illustrator Sam Hart. Kurt Johnstad (300) wrote the script.

There’s the wind up and pitch for you, and the newest trailer went live this week as well which you can view below. On that note, aside from anymore that the marketing campaign can offer at this point, if you’re not as sold as I am or anyone else here, I honestly don’t know what else to say…I mean, the man is about to direct Deadpool 2 also, so… yeah. You’re welcome!
