THE EMPEROR OF PARIS: ‘Blood Father’ Director’s New Period Crime Thriller Now Available In The U.S. From Gaumont

At some point, Mesrine and Blood Father helmer Jean-François Richet managed to make landfall for his new period crime thriller, The Emperor Of Paris, starring the impeccable Vincent Cassel.

The film has already rolled out several territories including festival presentations, the last of which was in June this year in time for Edinburgh. As of a few days ago, Gaumont made its U.S. release official on VOD and Digital.

POLDARK meets GAME OF THRONES in this historical true story epic about the underworld battle during the reign of Napoleon in 1805’s France.

Under the reign of Napoleon, François Vidocq, the only man who escaped from the greatest penal colony of the country, is a legend of the low-Parisian fund. Left for dead after his last spectacular escape, the ex-penal colony prisoner tries to make him forget under the traits of a single trader.

Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) is the perfect period anti-hero in this violent, impressively staged historical action thriller also starring Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion) and August Diehl (Inglorious Basterds).
