Kenji Tanigaki’s The Furious is coming to theaters in the U.S. starting late Thursday evening into Friday nationwide from Lionsgate. Invariably, it’s one of the biggest films made during my time as a critic, and also one of the biggest opportunities I got to screen a movie in person months ahead of its release.
I wrote about my day out exclusively for supporters over at my Buy Me A Coffee page where I sometimes publish things earlier than on the website, or simultaneously if I’m up to it. It was my first time at the Tribeca Screening Room where I also got to meet one of the PR agents organizing the press event. In the spirit of anonymity, I won’t name names, but this was a huge and pretty emotional day considering the date, especially.
I’ve set that post to public which I’m leaving here, and if you’re at all interested in supporting my work, a donation is welcome. My review will also go live on Wednesday and both of my interviews will go live on Friday, and in the meantime, those of you who live under a rock like me can now find themselves subscribing to Jet Li on YouTube!
The actor, action star and newly-minted author debuted his latest “So Be It” episode on Tuesday with daughter Jada, discussing The Furious and more alongside daughter Jada in an interview with The Furious director Kenji Tanigaki and exec producer Bill Kong. It streamed at 6am EST so I’m just stumbling upon it and watching it with the rest of you who may be new to the channel.
Enjoy!
