THE GREAT WAR OF ARCHIMEDES: Yamazaki Takashi’s Manga Adaptation Sets Course For Summer 2019

THE GREAT WAR OF ARCHIMEDES

Yamazaki Takashi (Parasyte 1 & 2, Eternal Zero, Returner) is just about done filming his next epic, The Great War Of Archimedes. The new film is based on Mita Norifusa’s 2015 manga publication, set in the 1930s as the Imperial Japanese Navy undergoes plans to build the world’s biggest and most powerful battleship, the Yamato.

Actor Suda Masaki fronts the cast thusfar as mathematical genius, Kai, brought aboard at the behest of an eager admiral, only to uncover discrepancies in the cost of its construction, as well as another potential conspiracy. Suda’s most recent credits include starring in Fukuda Yuichi’s Gintama franchise, Kishi Yoshiyuki’s two-part boxing drama, Wilderness, and Nagai Akira’s Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High.

Further details remain pending ahead of the film’s expected release next summer.
