THE HIT LIST: September 24, 2018

It looks like things are slowing down a little on the interwebs regarding shortfilms. I’ll do my best to scavenge for these gems as much as possible, though I am looking forward to taking another break (which probably won’t be one anyway since I’ll likely be using it to write ? …the cycle never ends).

As for all else, The Hit List is now here and I’ve brought some new stunt, training and performance reels to the fray this week courtesy of Narayan Cabral, Anna Sophia Moad, Camran Bostanabad, Spencer Davis, Robert Steven Brown, Rad Floria, Amelia Skye, Bruce Neri, April Taft, Heather Brooke, Vinny O’Brien, Zhanna Sattsaeva, Gabby Perrera, Craig Henry, Shane Daniels and Jose Vicente Iborra. (*Marques Zaror Archie’s reel appears to have been tentatively removed.)

There’s only one item to promote this week and for that, we turn to Nerdbot’s most recent effort, Back In The Shell. The project was initially announced as a fan series inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise earlier this year and for now, most of what we’re seeing are a selection of behind-the-scenes photos and even a little footage boot. This little jewel is pretty solid too.

Spunkadelic… drop that beat!

Time to get the action going and we’re kicking off with a reintroduction of the Broken shortfilm miniseries. The third installment of this particular project recently launched this past week and so I thought I’d revive the series to start off the playlist below featuring Caio Fontes.

From there, we get into the practice gems beginning with Kembali, starring Chaoi Power and Ayez Shaukat Fonseca in his return to screenfighting and action acting, followed by Alexey Minaev and Dimitriy “Diesel” in Mistake, and by Chris Cowan as he doles out the Kombat brutality in a designated fan fight practice pitting Brendon Huor‘s Kano against Kyle McClean‘s Johnny Cage.

Drablo Chua’s most recent release was a feat at the Fighting Spirit Film Festival in the UK once upon a time. He’s now live and online with Lucid starring Bruce Chong as a man forced to fight his way out of his own mind, while John Grannan and Steve Miller duke it out in the ultimate on-set action movie battle for supremacy at the ever-satirical and brutal action comedy, Cut.

Following that is another series revival with Final Contact. Raymond Blong, Andrew Kim and Luis Candelario comprise the first two episodes as the action miniseries tracks the journey of a mysterious package. That journey now brings us with its trilogical installment, Contacto Final: Cero with Roxalinda Vazquez front and center, as well as a certain ‘Deadly Venom’ in the post credits!?….

Depending on how this week goes, I might take October 1 off and return on 10/8. This will definitely give me sometime to catch up on some content as well as a little Fall R&R as well as consider what to post as I try to diversify things and bring something a little new to our website. We’ll see how this goes.

Meanwhile, with last week’s Hit List entries still up, don’t hesitate to endulge. Also, sub to the channels and SHARE the Hit List with friends, and if you or someone you know has a stunt reel or a project that needs sharing, sent it to us at filmcombatsyndicate@gmail.com and we’ll be more than happy to vet your goods!
