Adam Lipsius (Amy & Sophia, Oceans Rising) will be making the case for buyers at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival with new action thriller, The Last Job. Voltage Pictures officially launched international sales on the pic which stars Academy Award-winners Richard Dreyfuss (The Goodbye Girl, Close Encounters of The Third Kind) and Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite, Mimic, Stuber).

Written and directed by Lipsius, The Last Job centers on Ben Myers (Dreyfuss), an ailing ex-mobster who has lived a life filled with violence, crime, love, and loss. He is quickly taken out of retirement when one day, he comes home to discover that he’s been robbed of all his savings. Instead of turning to his police detective daughter (Sorvino), Ben tracks down the thieves in an increasingly brutal quest for answers that drives him to question what his life has been for. Confronting the end, will he make peace with the people he leaves behind? What will his final reckoning amount to?

“It takes a truly gifted filmmaker like Adam and a truly exceptional project to attract talent of the caliber of Richard and Mira,” said Adam Wright, Voltage EVP, Sales & Acquisitions. “We’re honored to represent this special film, which truly encapsulates the kind of projects we at Voltage relish in offering to our international partners – high quality and highly commercial.”

Lipsius is also producing the film under his Uptown 6 production shingle along with Kris Wynne.

Sorvino won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Mighty Aphrodite, and most recently appeared in Ryan Murphy’s 12-time Emmy-nominated Netflix limited series, Hollywood. She is repped by APA and Management 360.

Dreyfuss, also repped by APA, won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Goodbye Girl, and was nominated for his eponymous role in Mr. Holland’s Opus. He most recently starred in two Netflix films, The Last Laugh, opposite Chevy Chase, and graphic novel adaptation, Polar, starring Mads Mikkelsen.

The current Voltage sales slate also includes the highly anticipated action-thriller, The Marksman, starring Liam Neeson, the gangster crime biopic Lanksy with Harvey Keitel, Sam Worthington and Annasophia Robb, and the horror feature film The Call, starring Insidious’ Lin Shaye and Saw’s Tobin Bell.
