The New Frank Martin Is Action-Ready In The First Official Photo From THE TRANSPORTER LEGACY

There’s still plenty of time to speculate ahead of the March 6, 2015 release of the action-packed origin-centered thriller, The Transporter Legacy. It is the first step into a new trilogy with a new lead actor in the form of former Game Of Thrones co-star, actor Ed Skrein now taking the reigns of franchise character, Frank Martin, played previously by the incomparable Jason Statham, and of course, the fans will no doubt be critical.

The film is the second remake effort from Brick Mansions helmer Camille Delamarre, focusing on Martin’s earlier years as a self-employed transporter-for-hire for any and all who could afford him, as well as abide by three main rules. What’s interesting here is that despite taking an origin-oriented approach, the story here will evidently see the character Martin, already in his element (somewhat indicated by previous set footage), which indicates that the new franchise won’t be straying too far away from Martin’s appeal to fans of the franchise.

To say the least, it appears Martin will be back to deliver the usual arsenal of breakneck fisticuffs, and hopefully through the vision of a well-suited action director that knows how to solidify Skrein as a proper heir to the role. And as such, IGN has presented a new synopsis, as well as the first official image of a beaten and bruised Martin already hard at work:

In the criminal underworld of France, Frank Martin (Ed Skrein – Game of Thrones) is known as The Transporter; the best driver and mercenary money can buy. Frank will deliver anything for a price. He abides by 3 simple rules: no names, no questions and no renegotiations.that is until he meets a mysterious and lethal femme fatale Anna (Loan Chabanol), leader of a group of deadly assailants. Stopping at nothing to take down a group of ruthless Russian human traffickers, Anna knows Frank is the best man for the job and holds his father (Ray Stevenson – Thor, Divergent) for ransom to ensure his cooperation. Now Frank and his father are forced to team up with Anna to bring these villains to justice. The Transporter Legacy is a relentless, high octane ride that takes the Transporter franchise to explosive new heights.

Skrein, Chabanol and Stevenson are joined by True Blood actress Gabriella Wright, A Good Day To Die Hard co-star Radivoje Bukvic and actress Tatiana Pajkovic. French film auteur Luc Besson is back to produce the new trilogy along with producer Mark Gao, with scriptwork by Besson and Exodus: Gods And Kings and Assassin’s Creed co-scribes Bill Collage and Adam Cooper.
