Considering that we are in an age of superhero movies, maybe one day soon we will hear from the people at Marvel about a possible live-action adaptation of the character known as, Black Cat, born and raised in Queens, N.Y. (where I am from) who refused to live as a rape victim and chose to develop a unique skill set that combined her fighting skills with her ability to produce “bad luck” for her enemies.
I could definitely see how this type of character intrigued director Andrew Dobell, an innovative independent filmmaker who shares an affinity for building a vision of action direction with strong female leads. This time though, utilizing the talented martial arts film and performance team, SG Action, featuring member Eleanor Whitfield as the titular lead, Dobell shares that vision in the new trailer for the upcoming short, which also stars Martin Wan, Chris Jones and Lawrence Nicklin.
