The New Trailer For LEAGUE OF GODS Gives You More Spectacle, And Jet Li!

It was a bit over a year ago that the new epic fantasy actioner, League Of Gods began production, and judging by the first teaser back in April, you might have guessed the look would have been just as less-convincing as a lot of other CG-heavy films from the region. However, an official release has been set for late July and with about a month and a half left, a new trailer has surfaced, so, varying opinions notwithstanding, this one looks much more impressive, and the inclusion of co-star Jet Li will sure play a role in getting the film the traction that directors Vernie Yeung and Koan Hui are looking for.

SYNOPSIS:

Based on the 16th-century Chinese novel The Investiture of the Gods 封神演义. With a production budget of HKD$300 million, the film features a star-studded cast such as Jet Li, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Fan Bingbing, Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy.

A long time ago, a determined King Zhou, supported by his concubine Daji, sets his mind on conquering the Middle Kingdom. After years of slaughter, the unyielding Adept tribes have been eliminated in succession. Jiang and General Ji from Qishan are King Zhou’s longstanding opponents. Under a divinatory sign, Jiang discovers that the Sword of Light can reverse the adversity.

General Ji has reservations over the unruly nature of the weapon, but Jiang believes that hope lies in risks. He then makes a shrewd scheme of assigning the quest for the Sword to several nobodies—Ji Lei, Nezha, and Er Lang Shen.

Each born with strange Adept powers, the team is confronted with their own respective fears that threaten to endanger the quest. On their risky journey for the Sword, the first challenge is to overcome their fears.
