Fans of director Ding Sheng‘s work can get back into their groove again this September with the release of his latest film, Saving Mr. Wu starring actor Andy Lau in the title role. It’s the first project to make way from Sheng‘s Going Zoom Media Co. banner with co-financing by Shanghai New Media Group, and it looks like another slick, solid crime puzzle worth solving. It’s Sheng in his element and the latest trailer looks worth every second.
The story focuses on the abduction of Wu, a Hong Kong film star. Despite the cruelty of his abductors, Wu demonstrates an extraordinary calm that makes him more than just another kidnapping victim, aided by the brave actions of the police. During the case, there is more than one abduction incident, keeping the audience in a constant state of suspense.
