‘The Night Comes For Us’ Director Timo Tjahjanto To Direct THE BIG FOUR For Netflix

There’s been some BIG things happening this weekend if you’ve tuned in to the Netflix Tudum Watch Party to check out trailers and updates on upcoming series and films, including Cowboy Bebop starring Jon Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda.

We’ll be sure to cover even more going forward, but what we can also report via Netflix as of Saturday is word that director favorite Timo Tjahjanto has signed a new deal with the streamer to direct new feature film, The Big Four. Plot and casting details are under wraps.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to tell this particular story to the world. With my previous experience of working with Netflix that allowed international exposure, I’m very excited for this new project.” said Tjahjanto.

Best known for deep-diving into the horror genre with film cohort Kimo Stamboel on projects like Macabre and Killers, the two helmers eventually also collaborated on 2016 action thriller, Headshot. The film would eventually proceed Tjahjanto’s then-hotly anticipated barnburner actioner, Netflix’s The Night Comes For Us, before switching gears for back-to-back horror hits, 2018’s May The Devil Take You, and its 2020 sequel, May The Devil Take You Too.

Tjahjanto’s next ensemble directorial endeavor, V/H/S/94, will screen in front of Beyond Fest on October 4 before streaming on AMC’s Shudder from October 6.

“Since its arrival in Indonesia in 2016, Netflix has partnered with Indonesian creative communities. We look forward to working with more Indonesian storytellers who will share their perspectives with the world.” said Netflix in a statement.

Back in February, Tjahjanto signed with New Line to direct a remaining of South Korean blockbuster, Train To Busan, and in the months since then, has continued to stir up hype with Twitter followers, teasing conversations with the likes of actors Andrew Koji (G.I. Joe Origins: Snake Eyes) and Donnie Yen (Raging Fire). It’s all too much of a blur at this point but whatever happens, you’d be wise to just hit that follow button.
