THE PROSECUTOR: Well Go USA Readies Disc And Digital Releases In May For The Donnie Yen Action Thriller
Donnie Yen’s action-induced legal procedural, The Prosecutor, is heading to Digital, 4K UHD, Blu-Ray and DVD beginning May 27. Yen stars and directs the hit thriller which also Julian Cheung (The Grandmaster), Francis Ng (Customs Frontline, Infernal Affairs II), and Kent Cheng (I Did It My Way, Ip Man franchise).
Inspired by an actual legal case in Hong Kong, THE PROSECUTOR follows the story of a man who falsely pleads guilty to drug trafficking after being framed. Despite the confession, the veteran policeman-turned-prosecutor (Donnie Yen) handling the case is convinced of the man’s innocence and pursues his own investigation, risking both his career and his life to bring the real perpetrator to justice.
Yen is in fine form these days as someone operating firmly on both sides of the lens just after shepherding Sakra. He’s taking the same dual roles for his own spin-off for the John Wick franchise as well, so we’d all be wise for keeping an eye out on his progress.
