Korean news outlets are reporting that cameras have begun rolling over the weekend for The Roundup 5 with returning actor Don Lee. Stunt professional Heo Myung-haeng is returning to the helm following his work on Badland Hunters, and the fourth chapter of the series, The Roundup: Punishment, both vehicles starring Lee who also penned new the pic.
Playing the villain of choice this time around is actor Kim Jae-young who also reunites with Lee following director Lee Seong Tae’s 2016 crime thriller, Derailed. Rounding out the cast are Seo Hyun-woo (Wall To Wall), Lee Hak-ju (The Great Flood), Baek Hyun-jin (Seoul Vibe), and Kim Min-ho (Swing Kids) for a release planned in 2027.
News on The Roundup 5 adds to the growing slate of titles featuring the burly actor who has made waves for himself over the last fifteen years, including with Yeon Sang-ho’s hit zombie flick, Train To Busan which gets its tenth anniversary theatrical rollout this summer. Lee is also in toe to appear in two upcoming films from director Lee Sang-yong: Extraction spin-off, Tygo, and action horror flick, Pig Village.
