Actor and filmmaker Nick Cheung made quick work of weighing in on the press during FilMart in Hong Kong with a to-do list of his own next to that of his fellow film peers. Part of his campaign no less included the marketing of his latest crime thriller, The Trough (formerly a Taste Of Crime) ahead of its Asian rollout starting on April 28 in China, here marking his latest and third turn at both sides of the lens.
Yu Chau is a cop who has gone so deep undercover within the triad. He can no longer tell which side of the law he’s on. When he accidentally kills one of his pals in an operation, he runs off into the boonies to lick his wounds. Upon his return, he teams up with fellow officers Jim and Jackie to catch a triad Boss, only to unveil collusion with government officials at the highest level. Yu Chau once again faces the dilemma of taking the law into his own hands…
Also starring are Jinglei Xu and Nan Yu among the roster while we await some acquisition news to come forth as well. Malaysian portal GSC is airing their own trailer as well for a May release which you can check out below.
