Chang’s attachment comes courtesy of The Lamp Films who provided original script developement and a crew comprised of the Choi Chan-Min who lensed the stunning martial arts action in last year’s Kundo, along with New World production designer Cho Hwa-Sung, music director Bang Jun-Seok who contributed to Song Kang-ho’s latest period drama starrer, The Throne and Kim Sang-Bum who cut Ryoo Seung-Wan’s latest hit cop action flick, Veteran. In turn, China-based New Clues Films and Jaywalk Studios, who also aided in Chang’s 2014 Cannes hit, The Target, are backing the film’s script adaptation, cast, financing marketing and distribution.
The film is on deck for a late 2016 release with Chin Shih Chieh, Liu Chang and Zhang Yi-Han also starring while the man himself, Chan, tends to his own sprawling list of movies that ought to keep us busy fawning for another few years, including Renny Harlin’s Skiptrace, Jack Black’s third stint in Dreamworks’s Kung Fu Panda 3, Martin Campbell’s tentatively-titled revenge thriller, The Foreigner, Ding Sheng’s latest outing with Jackie Chan for Railroad Tigers, and the forthcoming release of Kung Fu Yoga.
