It’s a crazy week for trailers and the latest from 20th Century Fox guarantees no exception on said craziness. For many a Marvel or X-Men fan, March 3 is already set in stone as the new movie, Logan, marks the latest from director James Mangold in the aforemention comic book franchise starring Hugh Jackman.
Last year’s teaser was a humble, musical ode garnished with raw, emotional appeal driving the action as we meet our former X-Men and former, now ailing professor as they’re forced to step up and protect a mysterious girl who is more than she appears to be. That would be actress Dafne Keen thus confirmed as Logan’s long lost sib of sorts, X-23, who we also caught a tiny glimpse of in the first compelling teaser for the upcoming thriller.
Well, move on up and peel your eyes open, and gaze at two brand new official trailers – including a new red-band version of it, showcasing plenty more of Hugh and the young Ms. Keen in their respective elements. The film is the second in the X-Men franchise to be R-rated after Deadpool with some meaty action scenes coordinated by Steve Brown and with less than two months ago before its release, the consensus is clear with fans ready to celebrate this as a ceremonial exit for our main star in an otherwise continuing IP for the big screen.
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
