VETERAN 2: I, THE EXECUTIONER Lands On Digital And VOD This Month. Catch The Trailer!
Capelight Pictures and MPI Media Group are setting a February 11 digital and VOD release for Veteran 2: I, The Executioner. Ryoo Seung-wan directed the long-awaited sequel to the 2015 crime thriller starring Hwang Jung-min who previously worked with Ryoo in a few past films, namely The Unjust, and The Battleship Island.
Detective Seo Do-cheol (HWANG Jung-min), who leads the Major Crime Investigation Division, tirelessly tracks down criminals. When the murder of a professor reveals connections to past cases, suspicions of a serial killer emerge, plunging the country into turmoil. With the help of an idealistic rookie officer, Park Sun-woo (JUNG Hae-in), the case takes unexpected twists and turns.
Ryoo is still on track for another sprawling production this year after scoring multiple wins for his latest heist caper, Smugglers. That one is currently only available on R3 DVD in Korea and Taiwan, so I’m still trying to track any possible Blu-Rays while I’m at it. In the meantime, Veteran 2: I, The Executioner should bode as another fascinating watch from a director who clearly pays attention to the greats.
