Watch The Gritty, Hard-Hitting New Trailer For POLICE STORY 2013

This week Chan-atics can finally indulge in the latest new teaser for director Ding Sheng‘s Police Story 2013. As stated in previous reports, the film will follow actor and Star Asia Lifetime Achievement Award winner Jackie Chan in a role suited with a different narrative diverging from prior films of the franchise leading up to New Police Story (2004).

Police Story 2013 was announced in September of 2012, and proceeded filming two months later through February this year before its unveiling at the Beijing International Film Festival. New footage for the film also made its way to the Marche Du Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival Lightbox, in addition to newly revealed footage shown during Chan‘s epic North American summer tour reflecting on his career milestones and memories of film past, notably at this year’s events at the New York Asian Film Festival.
The film also comes off the limited North American release of his third installent of the Armor Of God franchise, CZ12, and marks a beginning of Chan‘s latest gradual step toward more diverse roles and away from solid action, with such films including his long-awaited development of Skiptracer from a script by Jay Longino with actor Sean William Scott, actress Fan Bing Bing and director Sam Fell. Chan will also be joining Steven Spielberg and actress Gong Li for The Flowers Of War and Curse Of The Golden Flower helmer Zhang Yimou‘s return to literature for Return, the big screen adaptation of Geling Yan’s 2011 novel, The Criminal Lu Yanshi.
Police Story 2013 also stars Liu Ye, Huang Bo, Jing Tian, Zhang Lanxin, Wang Zhifei, Zhang Xiaoning and Guli Nazha, and is set for Mainland China and Hong Kong release on December 24, 2013.
SYNOPSIS:

“Police Story 2013″ follows Jackie Chan’s legendary series “Police Story” and this sixth installment, the film tells the story of one night, at a downtown district bar, all guests were taken hostage. Among them are Interpol, Zhong Wen and daughter Miao Miao. The criminal looks familiar; it is bar owner Wu Jiang whose demand in this hostage situation is the release of a criminal who has been in police custody for a long time. Are things as simple as it looks? What is his true motivation for this desperate action?
