Wuershan’s MOJIN: THE LOST LEGEND Comes Home On May 3

Director Wuershan dazzled at the box office back in 2015 with the 80’s set action adventure comedy, Mojin: The Lost Legend. Based on a 2006 novel by Zhang Muye, the subject of searching for lost national treasures may have played a role in garnering the attention it did in China as well as the success drawn from its IMAX releases. At any rate, it became a box office success ultimately debuting second to J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This is evidently opened up prospects for a sequel with word now circulating that Silent Witness helmer Fei Xing will direct next installment for a 2018 release pending. (H/T: Asian Film Strike) Details are scarce right now, but if you’re curious about the fervor behind this latest gem starring Shu Qi, Chen Kun and Angelababy, do keep note of the forthcoming home release from Well Go USA on May 3.

The film itself is fantastic with a great share of comedy and spectacle throughout. Some of it is a little annoying with at least one of the characters getting on my bad side and I talk about it all in my review from last year. Apart from that, know that a sequel is coming, and the best way to prepare yourself is to see what came before it. Or read the book, whatever your preference is.

Peep the details beneath!
