I’m pretty sure that if you look at a lot of other blogs who will report the latest international Japanese trailer for the upcoming superhero film, The Wolverine, they might hype this up as “WOAH! Is The Wolverine Gonna Be A Samurai???” or something otherworldly and similar to that. And considering the fanbase the film is catering to, I dare not think director James Mangold took it there and went all Scott Glenn on us by making logan into a Tom Cruise spinoff with claws. Nope, not here. Not buying it.
So, aside from the hype, yes there is a Japanese trailer for the film starring Hugh Jackman in the titular role who takes on a character who DOES happen to be the Silver Samurai, played Will Yun Lee. So there, a new Japanese trailer, and as per all Japanese action trailers, this too, is badass. So, in part, let us not cause a controversy by trying to rewrite Christopher McQuarrie’s screenplay. Yes, the title of the Japanese release is WOLVERINE: SAMURAI. That’s all it is.
You can relax now, trolls. LOL!
SYNOPSIS:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysteriousfigure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
