Netflix has announced it’s first acquisition under their first look partnership with The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller. Starring Sofia Boutella (Fahrenheit 451, The Kingsman) the film marks not only the first film under a first look deal with Netflix and The Stone Quarry, but also continues Netflix’s relationship with the company and the Snyders after the success of Army of the Dead and it’s prequel Army of Thieves, which is the current #1 film in 90+ countries.
This film also is a reunion for Eric Newman (Producer at Grand Electric), Snyder, and Netflix’s Scott Stuber. Stuber previously worked with Newman and Snyder when overseeing Snyder’s work on Newman’s first film, 2004’s Dawn of the Dead, while the Vice-Chairman of Universal. Along with director duties, Zack Snyder also served as a writer alongside Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten, whom also worked on Army of the Dead and other films with Snyder.
When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
