This weekend we have a brand new trailer for the Tagalog/English dual-language Filipino crime thriller, On The Job. The film is the latest feature-length film from writer/director Erik Matti and co-writer Michiko Yamamoto, based on real-life events involving recent stories of political corruption, with politicians tied to mobsters, and organized hits using day-release prisoners as assassins.
The film has been making the film festival rounds all summer so far since its world premiere at the 66th Cannes Film Festival back in May where it was acquired by Well Go USA for North American distribution.
On The Job has earned several upbeat reviews online ever since, and also won
two major awards at the Pichon International Film Festival in South Korea last month, including an award to co-star
Joel Torre for Best Actor.
The film is currently scheduled to premiere at
Fantastic Fest in Austin this September, leading into its limited theatrical North American and Canadian premiere on
September 27, 2013.
