EMPIRE V: Banned From Russia, Catch The Official Trailer For Victor Ginzburg’s New Fantasia-Bound Sci-Fi Horror Thriller

Firstly premiering on Deadline this week, we have a trailer now running for Russian-set sci-fi horror thriller, Empire V. The film was announced in the first wave back in May for this summer’s 27th installment of Fantasia Festival which launches on July 20. Empire V was adopted for the screen by filmmaker Victor Ginzburg, and based on Victor Pelevin’s 2006 publication. Previously set to release in Russia last year from Sony, the film was pulled by the Kremelin following the country’s war on Ukraine, just one week ahead of its scheduled release. Ensuingly, principal cast member, actor and recording artist Miron Yanovich Fyodorov (a.k.a. Oxxxymiron) was labeled a “foreign agent” by the Kremelin for his anti-war stances. He is joined by actors Pavel Tabakov, Taya Radchenko, Miron Fedorov and Vera Alentova. Cameras are currently rolling on supernatural thriller, It Feeds. The film is being directed by Chad Archibald from his own script, for a cast led by Ashley Greene (Accident Man, The Twilight Saga) and Shawn Ashmore (Acts Of Violence, X-Men franchise). It Feeds tells the harrowing story of a young girl who insists that a malevolent entity is feeding on her. Greene portrays a clairvoyant therapist who must confront her own personal demons to save the girl before she is taken completely. Ashmore takes on the role of the anguished father, desperately struggling to protect his daughter. The film marks the official launchpad for Productivity Media, Inc. The official trailer was just revealed for writer and director Neil LaBute’s new contained home invasion thriller, Fear The Night. Quiver Distribution is finally delivering on the requisite poster art featuring none other than a fierce-looking Maggie Q which you can view below. In the film, Q plays an ex-soldier fighting her addictions and personal scars. Adding to her already full plate are a swarm of intruders as she decides to take matters in her own hands on the night she attends a bachelorette party with several other friends. Director William Kaufman has firmly stacked 2023 with a trio of titles releasing this summer. He’s got Warhorse One which he co-helms with star Johnny Strong, as well as The Channel with Max Martini and Clayne Crawford, and now we have a look at Jason Patric/Cam Cigandet starrer, Shrapnel, rolling out from Saban Films in theaters, on digital and on-Demand July 28. A quick search should familiarize you a bit with the centerpiece of director Roel Reiné’s newest effort. That now brings us to the official trailer for Line Of Fire [De Vuurlinie], starring Waldemar Torenstra and Sallie Harmsen in the story of a Dutch soldier forced to stare down an onslaught of controversy after being awarded 4th class knighthood in 2009. After having received the highest military award of the Netherlands, a court case, post-traumatic stress and the scorn of the political establishment, the media and the general public turn Marco Kroon’s life into an emotional rollercoaster. Which makes it hard to hide that he’s harbouring a secret. Reiné directs from a script by Alex van Galen. The film is produced by KeyFilm, AVRO, and FCCE, and by distro outlet Dutch FilmWorks. Line Of Fire opens in the Netherlands on September 14.

It features Maggie Q as a former soldier who must now employ her own particular set of skills when home invaders send a bachelorette party spiraling. Eight women attend a bachelorette party at a remote farmhouse in the California hills. They are interrupted by the arrival of masked intruders who surround the place and begin shooting arrows at the home and the guests. One partygoer—Tess, a military veteran who is fighting her addictions and her difficulty at fitting in with other people—leads the women in making a stand against the attackers as they fight back in an effort to save themselves over the course of a single dark night. UNOFFICIAL OPERATION First Teaser Trailer Reveals Topsy-Turvy Rescue Antics With Ha Jung-Woo And Ju Ji-Hoon!

Kim Sung-hoon’s new political thriller has a rousing first teaser trailer for Unofficial Operation following poster and image reveals in the past month. The film stars Ha Jung-woo and Ju Ji-hoon and opens on August 2 from Showbox in South Korea; a North American release via Well Go USA is also in toe. Ha plays a diplomat thrust into the turmoil of the war-torn streets of 1986 Beirut when he’s assigned to rescue another diplomat who was kidnapped and taken hostage two years earlier. Ju plays a local taxi driver and the other half of the oddball pairing that must now work together if they’re to survive Beirut and complete the mission. Check out the teaser trailer!

QUICKSAND Trailer Sinks You Deep Into Danger

Folks keen on more chilling content and are subscribed to AMC’s premium horror streamer, Shudder, can look forward Quicksand, the new English-language Colombian survival thriller coming this summer. The official trailer made its debut this week as well, with a script written by Matt Pitts, and directed by Andrés Beltrán (Tarumama). In Quicksand, an American couple, on the brink of divorce, travel to Colombia for a work conference. While on a hike through the rainforest, a storm causes them to become trapped in a pit of quicksand. Unable to move, it becomes a struggle for survival as they battle the elements of the jungle and a venomous snake, in order to escape. Starring Carolina Gaitàn (Encanto) and Allan Hawco (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan). Quicksand will release as a Shudder Original on Shudder beginning July 14, in addition to launching on AMC+ the same day.

After shelling out enough to win actor Da Peng a Golden Goblet Award for Best Actor at the Shanghai Film Festival this week, the actor’s awarded performance was soon sampled among the cast for Dust To Dust. Production began roughly four years ago, reteaming The Brink helmer and producer Jonathan Li and Soi Cheang, respectively. The story comes ripped from the headlines as it’s inspired by one of the biggest crimes in regional history when armed gangsters violently robbed a transport vehicle of up to fifteen million yuan in 1995. Dust To Dust chronicles the efforts undertaken during ghe to catch the criminals, as well as the interwoven drama that ensues between members of the gang. The film also stars Zhang Song Wen, Sun Yang, Wang Zi Chen, Lam Ka Tung and Xi Qi, and opens in China on September 9. Check out the teaser!
