Bring THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS Home To The Family From Universal Pictures Home Entertainment This Summer

I would argue that F. Gary Gray’s latest, The Fate Of The Furious, was a small cut below its predecessor from director James Wan (Justin Lin’s Furious 6 is still my personal favorite to date from the Fast saga). Still, it makes its case as a deserving film that does exactly what its supposed to do while not being too undermined by any off-set drama between its two main stars. I suppose we’ll find out eventually what comes of the next two films of the series – I have a few of my own predictions – while Universal Pictures Home Entertainment sets course for #F8‘s Digital HD release on June 27 before opening on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD and On-Denand and July 11. Miike Takashi’s new movie, Blade Of The Immortal, is screening at Cannes on Thursday and with more deals to be made on its distribution after inking a North American deal with Magnet Releasing. With sales kicking off at Cannes on Wednesday, Bloom has unveiled as part of its slate, Escobar: Paradise Lost helmer Andrea Di Stefano’s Three Seconds. As filmmaker Jesse Johnson nears his end with Asian ensemble thriller, Triple Threat, so continues the journey of another with his other of several Scott Adkins headliners, Accident Man. Actress Amy Johnston (Lady Bloodfight) shared a recent photo of herself and our protagonist in gravity-defying fashion which you can view below. Crime Drama SUBURBAN COWBOY Lands At Uncork’d For U.S. Release

It was last year when film duo Ryan Colucci and Grammy-nominated EDM artist Dragan Roganovic (a.k.a. Dirty South) premiered their last crime pic, Suburban Cowboy, at the Austin Film Festival. You can check out the trailer above to give you a good visual while matters of its distribution now bring news of its addition to Uncork’d Entertainment’s slate. In this gritty story based on real events, a drug dealer on Long Island finds himself over his head when one of his soldiers robs a connection to ruthless Serbian gangsters. When the debt falls on his shoulders he is forced to take drastic measures. The film stars Frank Raducz Jr, Alandrea Martin, Louie Iaccarrino, and Matty Finocchio and marks a feature debut for both helmers who share respective shortfilm credits in their wake, including With You and 4.2.3.. CANNES: Participant, Nordisk Ink New Output Deal

Focus Features Focus Features is currently presenting moviegoers with a first look at Rupert Wyatt’s latest comprehensive sci-fi, Captive State which you can view just above. In the meantime with the launch of Cannes this week, the film now sits as one of several titles at the center of Participant Media’s new multi-year output deal with Nordisk Film Distribution for titles produced via Amblin Partners, including José Padilha’s Untitled Entebbe Project which wrapped back in February. The global expansion of the deal will cover the Scandinavian territories of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, building off a similar arrangement with eOne, for distribution in the United Kingdom, Benelux, Spain and Australia/New Zealand.
