The Cartel Assembles For Jesse Johnson’s TRIPLE THREAT

It wasn’t made clear just to what capacity actress Jeeja Yanin’s role in Jesse Johnson’s new movie, Triple Threat, would extend at the time when we broke the exclusive back in March. Needless to say that mystery now comes to an end with the Raging Phoenix and Chocolate star donning some serious tactical gear in a new promo photo featuring herself among the antagonists for the new Asian action movie currently in production in Thailand. Yanin’s cohorts as seen below include Ron Smoorenburg and Scott Adkins, Michael Bisping and Michael Jai White outlining the murderous cartel from which leading action stars Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais and Tiger Chen must protect a billionaire’s daughter, played by none other than Celina Jade. Review: THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS Runs High On Big-Scale Action, Stalls Its Way To The Finish

I’ve spent my fair share of time fawning over Universal Pictures’s Fast franchise. However, in the wake of having seen its newest installation, F. Gary Gray’s The Fate Of The Furious, I think I’ve grown past the fandom a bit. That’s not to suggest that I’m exhausted from the franchise – I’m excited to see how it proceeded after Furious Seven, and I can’t wait to see what lies for the final two titles. I do feel left a little short on a the film’s ending on top of other things. I know it sounds nitpicky, but I did stay for the entirety of the end credits and sadly, there’s nothing after all of the explosive action and thrills and compelling plot twists. My not-weekend was indeed such. I did not one, not two, but three reviews, and frankly I’m surprised I even managed to get the Hit List done. So there, I’ve amazed myself whereas the following stunt performers and creatives below inducted into this week’s Hit List will do so tenfold. Review: BLACK ROSE Flourishes With Murder Mystery Thrills And Stateside Filmic Appeal

The last several years have been tremendous brain food for me in learning about various filmmakers from around the world and even getting acquainted with some of them in the process. They’ve all been delightful surprises in some degree or another, much like multifaceted Russian bodybuilding exponent, actor and producer Alexander Nevsky who has kept himself weighing in frequently as the latest in action stardom in his own making for close to two decades. His latest brings us to his directorial inaugration, Black Rose, for a familiar, albeit doable murder mystery narrative that largely functions as you would hope. THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD Sports An All-Too Familiar-Looking Poster

I don’t think anyone generally knew that the marketing for director Patrick Hughes’s latest action thriller, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, was going to be such a hilarious pisstake. Given the latest official artwork debut however, it appears they’re not kidding. Indeed, we have Samuel L. Jackson holding onto Ryan Reynolds for dear life as the story follows the world’s top protection agent assigned to guard his worst enemy, the world’s deadliest assassin from attempts on his life by a powerful dictator, played by Gary Oldman. Also starring is actress Salma Hayek along with Elodie Yung and others for its August 18 release and while we’ve yet to learn anymore about the film, I think the first NSFW trailer from Wednesday states the film’s case just fine… this one is gonna be too much fun. STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI: Luke Teases The End Of An Era In The First Official Teaser!

Leaving all sorts of questions in its wake on top of its huge box office success, the events seen in J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens now get their hotly anticipated continuation in the upcoming eighth canon installation, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The official trailer and poster premiered during Star Wars Celebration with director Rian Johnson, cast members in attendance. Next to the new additions of Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and actress Kelly Marie Tran who also joined in on the events on Friday, of course there’s question about who will return and who likely won’t. Moviegoers pining for more diversity in film will be pleased to see Universal Pictures stepping in with their latest acquisition, Warrior Queen. Morita Shuhei’s animated treatments of Ishida Sui’s 2011 horror manga, Toyko Ghoul, currently remains on my wishlist of titles to catch up on.
