BLUEFISH: First Trailer And Poster Debut For Lee Sang-Hoon’s New Comedic Action Drama With Ji Seung-Hyun, Cecilia Choi, And Yayan Ruhian
The outlook at this year’s Filmart is as unifying as ever with productions like Bluefish, the poignant new action comedy drama announced last summer and now making way for the marketplace. The Korean/Malaysian/Indonesian family flick now has a trailer making the rounds to help showcase the newest effort from director Lee Sang-hoon, and a cast led by Ji Seung-Hyun, Cecilia Choi, Yayan Ruhian, Asmara Abigail, and Amerul Affendi
At the heart of Bluefish is the story of Gwang-su, a drifter with a violent past, who is unexpectedly transformed after a confrontation with Yeon-jeon, a mute milk delivery girl. When his aggression is met not with fear, but with silent compassion, Gwang-su begins to question the man he has become…
As guilt gives way to tenderness, Gwang-su slowly begins to change, until a misunderstanding drives them apart. When he later discovers that Yeon-jeon is in danger, he must decide whether to walk away or stand up for something real. What follows is a powerful journey of sacrifice, redemption, and the quiet grace of human kindness in the face of brutality.
Per Variety this week, Bluefish has already begun prepping release plans for later this year with Hong Kong and Taiwan in its sights. Other territories remain pending.
