BOMB: Yuki Yamada, Jiro Sato, And A City Under Siege In The Official Trailer
Wu Seung-ho’s 2022 novel serves as the basis for director Akira Nagai’s newest thriller, Bomb, which filmed back in January before revealing a teaser the following April. The film, starring Yuki Yamada and Jiro Sato, now has a full fledged trailer to make its case per the story, set in a Tokyo beseiged by bomb threats, and ensuing a battle of wits between a tenacious Metro Police negotiator, and a detained drunken vagrant who says he can predict when the bombs will go off.
The story begins with a mysterious middle-aged man being taken into police custody after a drunken assault on a vending machine and its clerk. He introduces himself as “Suzuki Tagosaku” and, claiming to have psychic powers, predicts the presence of bombs planted throughout Tokyo!
Starting with the explosion in Akihabara, he predicts three more explosions, each one hour apart. While dodging the detectives’ questions, he gradually begins to ask mysterious “quizzes” about the bombs… Who exactly is he?! And what is the true identity of the planted “bomb”?!
Bomb also stars Sari Ito, and Shota Sometani, along with Ryuta Bando, Atsuro Watabe, and recording artist and actor Kanichiro. The movie opens in Japan on October 31 from Warner Bros. Japan.
