WALID: ‘Silat Warriors’ Director’s Latest Gets NY & LA Screening Dates Ahead Of Fall Malay Release

If you’re at all keen on the festival scene in the last several years, then you may have gotten wind of Malaysian action thriller Geran (a.k.a. Silat Warriors: Deed Of Death). The movie premiered at the 19th New York Asian Film Festival where it earned its debutant director Areel Abu Bakar the Daniel A. Craft Award For Excellence In Action Cinema, before Well Go USA swooped in for its commercial release of the pic, and Bakar himself has gone on to direct a few more titles since then. A KIND OF KIDNAPPING: Dan Clark’s Award-Winning Comedy Announces Cast+Crew Events Ahead Of UK Release

Dan Clark’s new award-winning crime comedy, A Kind Of Kidnapping, will touch down next month in the UK via Bulldog Distribution. Starring Patrick Baladi (The Office, Line of Duty), Kelly Wenham (Double Date, Tales from the Lodge), Jack Parry-Jones (The Crown) and Olivia Poulet (The Thick of It), select cinemas will host screenings with cast and crew attendance starting July 13, followed by its digital release on July 24. WARRIOR: Max Hits The Streets Of New York, San Fran and LA With AR-Imbued Murals To Promote Season Three

The first three episodes of Warrior finally arrived on Thursday to kick off the hotly anticipated season three. To relish in the occasion, streaming platform Max is partnering with a trio of multicultural artists to produce and promote an interactive experience using murals currently on display in three major cities: New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. FSFF 2023: Bruce Lee Comes To The Mockingbird Next Month!

The festivities continue in 2023 for the Fighting Spirit Film Festival as they ready their schedule for the year, including none other than a special day-long tribute to Bruce Lee for The Fighting Spirit Film Festival Presents: The Bruce Lee Marathon on June 3. The festival, to be held at the Mockingbird Cinema, will run the gamut of six indepedent action short presentations and four of the late action star’s toplining classics, with intros and guest paneling in between. The marathon event runs from 11:30am to 11pm, and tickets are avaialble with more information on the programme now online at the venue’s official website.

Hey Austin! Meet And Train With The JOHN WICK And DUNE Stunt Teams In May!

This is a little different from what I normally post, although generally bolstering the stunt community has been my thing since the birth of this website. Suffice it to say, I’m happy to lend my platform as it pertains to an upcoming stunt training workshop to be held in Austin, Texas for anyone in the area during the weekend of May 20. The workshop is sponsored by 87Eleven Action Design and 87North (if you know, you know!), as well as Janell Smith’s Iron Dragon Productions and Tukong Martial Arts in Austin where the event will be held, hosted by Professor Hugh Fitzgerald and Roger Yuan, and the teams behind the John Wick and Dune films.
