Ross W. Clarkson’s fan-funded martial arts tourno thriller, The Last Kumite, has a new trailer online exclusively from German portal KinoCheck. Capelight Pictures is heading up its German blu-ray release in May in two editions, including a two-disc 4K UHD/Blu-Ray package loaded with special features and a media book, and more. Produced by Wayne A. Graves and penned by Clarkson and co-scribe Sean David Lowe, The Last Kumite joins Mathis Landwehr with a bevy of martial artists and genre stars on screen including Kurt McKinney, Matthias Hues, Billy Blanks, and Cynthia Rothrock. The life and times of former boxer Ellyas Pical is now the subject of a six-part Prime Video series premiering March 21. Herwin Novianto directs the series from a script by Alin Sudio for the mini-drama, and starring Denny Sumargo in the title role about Indonesia’s first world boxing champion. Here’s the synopsis below, translated: Born on a remote island with economic limitations and physical limitations (due to his hearing being damaged by a fish bomb) made Ellyas lose hope for his future. However, his fighting skills paved the way for Ellyas Pical to become a boxer. Starting from winning championships in amateur to professional matches. Until then, Ellyas Pical wanted to realize his ambition to become world champion. Making her way back to Netflix is actress Jennifer Lopez following her thrilling escapades in Niki Caro’s The Mother. Lopez is directed by Brad Peyton now in the new sci-fi epic, Atlas, which launches on the streamer on May 24. Atlas Shepherd (Lopez), a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it. Opinions on AI be damned, that’s Lopez in a mech suit which undoubtedly garners some attention from genre fans. Atlas also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory J. Filmed in 2022 and eventually introduced to the markets the following year, director Chan Tai-Lee is finally making headway this week at FilMart in Hong Kong with crime actioner, Fight For Tomorrow. Mandarin Motion Pictures, who is repping the film internationally, revealed the first teaser last week which you can view at the bottom of the page. Shi Saburo, a former tough guy who has been retired for several years has been working hard to break through difficulties, rediscover meaning in family, friendship and career, and understand the true meaning of tomorrow. Calvin Tong’s crime thriller debut, The Trier Of Fact, has a first look trailer now online. The film rejoins Call Of Heroes actors Louis Koo and Eddie Peng, which is a bit of a facelift following its announcement in 2019 when Nick Cheung was cast at the time. The Trier Of Fact centers on a maverick detective named Che (Koo), and Guo (Peng) a crime division officer appointed by his superiors to assist him, as they pursue the criminal activities of a ruthless drug lord. At one point just when Che believes he’s reached the end of his investigation, he uncovers a new twist revealing Guo’s involvement. Koo’s sales outlet, One Cool Film, revealed the trailer and latest poster at FilMart on Monday which you can view below.

RETALIATION Trailer Teases Trouble In Paradise In New Survival Thriller Short

A release date is currently up in the air while the latest trailer for Alex Lee’s new short thriller, Retaliation is online as of a few days ago. Lee wrote and directed the project late last year joining a cast that lists Stephanie Pham and Kage Yami, along with Dan Carione, Hayley Saltford and Carlo Leonardo. A couple attempts to rekindle their marriage, but the real test comes when they run afoul of a group of hostile hunters. Those familiar with Pham and Yami can also expect further updates with their latest upcoming in-house feature work, Player Agency from Art School Dropouts. In the meaintime, Retaliation makes for a rare branch-out with both actors to look forward to. Hitman, Donald Lavoie faces an impossible order: eliminate his own family for mob boss Claude Dubois.
