FALL 2 Announces Cast Ahead Of 2026 Release
Fall 2 is signaling its cast since wrapping principal photography earlier this year in Thailand, as put forth in a Thursday announcement by Capstone Studios’ CEO Christian Mercuri. Jigsaw and Predestination helmers Michael and Peter Spierig directed the second installment in the blockbuster Fall franchise, succeeding the 2022 inaugural thriller from Scott Mann co-wrote the sequel script with Jonathan Frank.
Starring are Harriet Slater (“Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” “Belgravia: The Next Chapter”), Arsema Thomas (“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” She Taught Love) and Tom Brittney (upcoming “The Westies,” “Grantchester,” Greyhound) for the film’s 2026 from Lionsgate. Fall 2 follows Jax (Slater) – overwhelmed by her sister Hunter’s death – who connects with Luce (Thomas), Hunter’s fearless friend. To heal, they attempt the infamous plank walk of Mount Kwan in Thailand. After a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded on a fragile plank 3000 feet in the air, Jax must confront her deepest fears and fight for survival to find closure.
The film reunites Mercuri with producers Mark Lane and James Harris of Tea Shop Productions (47 Meters Down), David Haring, and Mann via the Flawless banner. Dan Asma, John Long, and Roman Viaris also return as exec producers alongside Capstone’s Ruzanna Kegeyan, next to Wych Kaos’ whoe Kaos Entertainment served as production service partners in Thailand.
“We are delighted to be working with the extremely talented Spierig Brothers and this incredibly dynamic cast to introduce the next chapter in the Fall franchise,” said Tea Shop’s Harris. “With Michael and Peter’s vision we hope to bring a bigger and even more vertigo inducing experience to audiences.”
“We were huge fans of the first film and couldn’t wait to continue the journey. Our aim was to capture the same intensity that Scott Mann and his team established in the original, while adding new, layered characters who will connect with audiences as they endure extreme and terrifying heights,” added The Spierig Brothers.
Mann’s Fall was a surprise runaway critical and commercial success – hitting number one in several countries around the world and reaching Certified Fresh status. The movie drew over $20 million in box office from its original modest $3 million budget and was a major international hit, including in China where it was nominated as Best Foreign Language Film for a Golden Rooster, China’s equivalent to the Academy Awards. The original film also leveraged the TrueSync technology from Flawless, the leading film technology company pioneering the next generation of entertainment, of which Mann is Co-CEO. TrueSync, a TIME Best Inventions honoree, was used to change expletives spoken in the film by star Virginia Gardner to family-friendly language, which was crucial in securing the film’s successful global release.
Capstone Studios greenlit both Fall 2 and Fall 3 under the franchise, and Mann will return to write and direct the third installment.
