FAST FOREVER: Universal Dates The Next Installment Of The Fast Saga For 2028
Twenty seven years since the franchise took off, the eleventh entry in Universal’s The Fast Saga will finally bow in theaters on March 17, 2028. Additionally, official title is Fast Forever, formerly titled Fast X: Part Two as the continuation to 2023’s Fast X, directed by Louis Leterrier in his return to the helm.
The trades confirmed the news on Friday following a post made by actor Vin Diesel who stars in the franchise. Diesel is featured in the post alongside late actor Paul Walker in a still from Rob Cohen’s inaugural movie, The Fast And The Furious; Walker passed away in November 2013 from a tragic car accident during production recess from director James Wan’s Furious Seven (2015); The actor’s posthumous appearance was accomplished in part using a mix of film footage, face placement and digital enhancements along with the modified lookalike performances of Walker’s brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker.
Leterrier’s Fast X ends on an explosive cliffhanger, attached to the story set in Fast Five that coheses the additions of actors Jason Momoa and Alan Ritchson into the mix. According to Deadline, the plan was to get the next consecutive film going for this year before several delays hampered movement.
Fast Forever marks the twelfth addition to The Fast Saga which also includes David Leitch’s 2019 spin-off, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
