Gareth Evans Endorses Scott Adkins For A Starring Role In BAD BOYS 3

Unleash The Fanboy forwarded the latest news via Twitter that writer and director Gareth Evans annouced his latest endorsement  for martial arts action superstar star Scott Adkins for the villain role in the forthcoming production of Bad Boys 3. The tweet from the famed helmer of Indonesian action vehicle Merantau, The Raid: Redemption and the upcoming Sundance premiere of The Raid 2: Berandal came just after it was announced at Deadline on Monday night that Safe House screenwriter David Guggenheim was added to provide the screenplay for the third installation of the Bad Boys trilogy which began in 1995 with actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence and director Michael Bay.

Best known for his spectacular feats in martial arts action over the years since fully launching his career in Hong Kong, Adkins has become one of the most highly fan-demanded actors of today’s generation of action fans, working with numerous and notable filmmakers and stars like Yuen Woo-Ping, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Isaac Florentine and John Hyams, with appearances in Hollywood action flicks like The Bourne Ultimatum, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Expendables 2. Furthermore, his stardom is largely celebrated by fans throughout the film festival circuit worldwide with roles in recent hits like Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning, Green Street 3 and the forthcoming December 17th and 31st iTunes and DVD/Blu-Ray release of Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear, lending a major show of support from Adkins’ fans for roles in bigger budget mainstream films like Batman Vs. Superman and Fast And Furious 7.

As of late, it is only rumored that Smith and Lawrence will return for Bad Boys 3 although Bay is reportedly not tied to the film. So the announcement of a director may still be pending as Bay is currently busy with producing the June 20, 2014 release of The Purge 2, and promoting the June 27, 2014 release of Transformers: Age Of Extinction, marking the second trilogy of the fanchise.
Adkins is set to appear in director Renny Harlin’s fantasy period swordplay thriller, Summit Entertainment’s The Legend Of Hercules, releasing on January 10, 2013, in addition to starring actor Jacky Wu Jing’s 2014 directorial debut in War Wolves, which is now in post production. The actor has also been confirmed to reprise his role as Yuri Boyka in the upcoming production of Undisputed 4 with Florentine directing.

Stay tuned for more info.
