Life Is A Drag In The New Trailer For Action Comedy Series, DOS FAT GUYS

Marcos A. Miranda and Roberto Lopez have each other’s backs in ‘Dos Fat Guys’!

Independent filmmaker, actor, martial arts performer and 20 year film veteran Roberto Lopez has just unveiled the latest trailer for an original new action comedy series titled Dos Fat Guys. The project itself has been twelve years in the making for Lopez, inspired by classic television and film icons like Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and 70’s cop shows like Baretta, and incorporated with his own off-screen wit and chemistry with co-star and longtime friend, professional actor and martial arts Hall Of Fame inductee Marcos A. Miranda.

Dos Fat Guys also comes as the byproduct of Lopez having studied martial arts from the age of eight and growing up with a penchant for classic kung fu films, something that would eventually find Lopez working alongside his childhood hero, action directorial legend Sammo Hung on the set of the 1997 Lau-Kar Wing adventure, Once Upon A Time In China And America. “I got the job to work as technician on the film, but my friend slipped Sammo my reel for me and he cast me as one of the bad guys.” he says. “I studied everything I could get my hands on that Sammo ever directed, so the fact that I was able to work next to him and watch him direct was a big deal for me and I learned a lot from that.”. In addition the new series, which wrapped roughly two years ago following a long-enduring post-production process, incorporated a personal journey that brought Lopez his own more-than-fair share of challenges, among other things, including sharing his vision with the right people behind him to help. “I wanted to do the kind of moves that they did on the big screen,” he said, “But back then there was no one place you could learn everything. In my twenties I went to film school but was very disappointed with it. I wanted to make action films and everyone else wanted to make Gone With The Wind.”.
Having pulled all the strings and pennies from his pocket as he could, Lopez and his crew, including writer Damian Fitzsimmons and multifacted stuntman, writer, performer and director Kenny Wong, Dos Fat Guys currently has two episodes in its repertoire with the hopes of ascertaining the necessary funds to take their new concept to another level and expand it into something much bigger, like a television show or a feature film. In simpler terms, optimism is very high, and the possibilities are boundless, of course, only with your support.
Further details are still pending. In the meantime however, watch the new trailer with Lopez and Miranda in action below, and stay tuned for more info about this bold new series which may have some surprises in store!
