I remember very clearly New Years Eve of 2019: I had worked for weeks putting together a kick ass roaring 20’s theme party, and those in attendance all had a Gatsby of a time, and we were so excited for the new year and all the things that 2020 would bring to us.
It is nearly fall, which means that soon we will begin yet another season of American Horror Story. Since the anthology series began in 2011, each season usually gives audiences a new storyline full of interesting characters and lots of creepiness.
All’s quiet on The Raid front nowadays with Indonesian martial artist and actor Cecep Arif Rahman having granted himself quite the attention after last year’s stellar villainous performance in the sequel cult hit, The Raid 2. Such momentum has granted several of its Indonesian star purveyors some meaty prospects in other territories, especially for Rahman whilst we await confirmation for a certain possible role in an upcoming film this December which may or may not be just a mere rumor.
In the meantime, fans can now catch him in the lead role for a brand new pilot installment for upcoming French action series, O: Une Union Pas Comme Les Autres (A Union Like No Other). Filmmaker Christophe Diez wrote and directed the pilot with a story centered on a secret organization bent on combating terrorism and international crime. Much of the data available now is minimal as much as it’s all in French, but the trailer has been up for a while now and not only do we get a good look at the cast, we get to see more of Rahman who clearly hasn’t missed a step, performing the action as well as directing it with co-star Gil De Muger.
Moreover, we also get to see action actor Anthony Pho which I think is a real treat aside from his usual filmmaking craft for his Monkids channel on Youtube. The pilot for O is in post and should be ready later this year, so check out the trailer below, and take an exclusive look at 50 new stills courtesy of Diez himself!

On top of being a film fan and her on-set experience, Smith herself is also a purveyor of several martial arts styles, including Tukong Moosul – based on its roots in South Korean military commando training. And with her growing credentials in entertainment, it’s clear to see how deserving she is of this opportunity, and I look forward to seeing what happens with her future endeavors with Iron Dragon TV.
With events at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in full swing, we are bound to hear some amazing things happening in the world of gaming lore, with the world of film and television also thrown in the mix.
On Monday, Microsoft has announced it will be working on a new live action Halo series with producer Ridley Scott to package with this Fall’s upcoming November 11, 2014 release of all four games on one disc for the Xbox One titled “The Master Chief Collection”. The new series will be titled Halo: Nightfall, directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (Battlestar Galactica), and will introduce a key new character in next year’s release of the fifth game in the franchise, Halo 5: Guardians, which releases to the public this December.
The news comes off of reports made last month that Xbox Entertainment Studios president Nancy Tellem is developing a separate live action series for Showtime and Xbox Live, with producer Steven Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment TV and screenwriter Stuart Beattie. Still, no word has yet been offered regarding the feature film that has been in development for close to a decade now, but if a new compilation unit, a sequel game and two seemingly awesome new live action series projects are what it will take for such a bold step to be made, I’m down!

Martial arts action superstars Michael Jai White, Scott Adkins and Darren Shahlavi have all been pretty busy making headlines in recent months, with White filming Thai actioner Skin Trade as preparation continues for Black Dynamite 2, while Adkins‘ eighth pairing with director Isaac Florentine brings them for Close Range, and new reports have announced Shahlavi‘s starring role opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in Ernie Barbarash’s next thriller, Pound Of Flesh. That said, all three can be seen sharing screentime together in the first and second series installments of the internationally produced English-language science fiction fantasy series, Metal Hurlant Chronicles, which until only this week, earned its audiences largely in French-speaking territories beginning a little less than a year and a half ago.

Known for implementing their love for asian culture and action fanfare to their filmmaking luster and genius behind such shortfilm projects as Naruto: Dreamer’s Fight, Street Fighter X Tekken, the Takanashi Yasuharu-inspired short fight film, Eleven, and the upcoming fantasy sci-fi martial arts clan warfare series, Clandestine Path, Thousand Pounds Action Company has grown to work some of the best and most talented stunt performers, coordinators and filmmakers in the making. Their latest conceptual video, Earth 3, is exemplary of that, and it goes to show just why it is that the expectations for this independent film company have only gotten higher.
