PAYBACK: Jesse Johnson’s Hit Sequel To ‘The Debt Collector’ Arrives In UK On VOD In June, DVD In July

Apart from Samuel Goldwyn’s domain in the U.S., Dazzler Media is coming to U.K. homes with Jesse V. Johnson’s new film regionally titled Payback. The film is already host to swaths of praise from action fans, as well as niche bloggers with early reviews already making the rounds.

Johnson directs the film from a script he penned with Avengement and Accident Man cohort Stu Small, following up on the 2018 inaugural hit that featured Louis Mandylor and martial arts action mainliner, actor Scott Adkins; Both leads return respectively as Sue and French, supposedly back from the dead and sooner cornered into a two-day job with three collections to be made in Las Vegas where the truth of their work will ultimately be revealed in a brutal test of friendship and loyalty, and a twisted revenge plot by a ruthless gangster.

Save for whatever’s been written elsewhere, I didn’t give the twist away in my own account of the film, but it’s certainly one of the finer sequels in a direct-to-disc vehicle that sees Adkins in usual top form, and Mandylor in one of his finest performances to date. They’re joined by the return of actor Vladmir Kulich, and the additions of Louie Ski Carr, Cuete Yeska and Vernon Wells, and actresses Marina Sirtis, Mayling Ng and Charity Collins, with Aaron Toney and Austin Durden also starring.

Payback is available to own on digital download June 8, and on DVD from July 6. Pre-order the film now from iTunes.
